Topwell Ships 100 kg of UV Yellow Green Y3B Fluorescent Pigment to Europe by Air

Topwell has completed the air shipment of 100 kg of UV Yellow Green Y3B fluorescent pigment to Europe. The product is intended for security printing, specialty inks, coatings and other applications requiring a yellow-green fluorescent response under 365 nm ultraviolet illumination.

UV Yellow Green Y3B appears as an off-white powder under normal daylight. When exposed to 365 nm UV light, it produces a bright yellow-green fluorescence with an emission maximum of approximately 527 ± 5 nmTopwell prepared a 50 kg shipment of UV Yellow Green Y3B fluorescent pigment for air delivery to Germany.

Product Specifications

Destination Germany

The 1–10 μm particle size range allows the material to be evaluated in suitable ink, coating and polymer systems. Final dispersion, fluorescence intensity and processing performance depend on the formulation, binder, substrate, dosage and application method.

Potential Applications

UV Yellow Green Y3B can be evaluated for applications involving visual or machine-assisted fluorescent authentication, including:

  • Security inks
  • Certificates and documents
  • Labels and packaging
  • Brand-protection markings
  • Anti-counterfeiting coatings
  • Specialty printed materials
  • Selected plastic and coating systems

The material can be evaluated in offset, screen, intaglio and flexographic printing systems. The optimal printing method and dosage depend on the ink binder, substrate, printing thickness and required fluorescence intensity.

Formulation and Processing Guidance

For ink and coating applications, a starting addition level of approximately 1–10% may be evaluated, depending on the formulation and desired fluorescence intensity.

For plastic coloration and extrusion applications, a starting addition level of approximately 0.1–3% may be evaluated. The actual dosage should be optimized according to the polymer type, processing temperature, residence time and target fluorescence strength.

For organic fluorescent materials, solvent compatibility, dispersion behavior, heat stability and lightfastness should be confirmed in the final application system. Additional stabilizers may be considered for products exposed to intense UV radiation or extended outdoor use.
